Scentry Place originated in Jasper, Texas in 1980. It was born out of the Bidwell's love of their show dogs, all of which accompanied the family from Canada to Texas. Nancy and her husband, Dr.Peter Bidwell, had shown German Shepherds in their native Canada and continued to do so upon moving to Texas. They brought top show Shepherds to Jasper.
When the Sheriff of Hardin County asked Nancy to donate a drug dog to his Department, Scentry Place was born. The trainer out of Houston Texas had another agenda so Nancy trained her first Narcotics Detection Dog 'Pac Man'.

Sons Grant and Jeremy were born to train and handle dogs. They are both accomplished trainers and handlers and contributed to the excellent reputation of Scentry Place while working in the family business. Jeremy handled and trained dogs while attending University. He does not handle nor train dogs these days and his Explosives Dog Jake is retired. Jeremy is currently completing his Psychology Residency. He lives in "Woodstock, Illinois and is the Associate Director of the Center for Rural Psychology, and an Instructor in the Doctoral Psychology Program at Wheaton College :) Jeremy is invaluable as a consultant to Scentry Place both in canine expertise and in our Investigations Division.

Grant also lives in Woodstock, Illinois and is currently a Captain for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. Grant was born to train K-9 and has many successful Law Enforcement K-9 teams on the street to his credit.
